Umberto Caretta
Born in Lecce, Italy, in 1966, a career developed between Lecce and Milan, a complete artist with hundreds of creations completed or yet to be realized, with a background of over 30 years of experience as a designer and creative.
Throughout this career of work and collaborations, he has collected material aimed at telling the story of his artistic and professional journey, always achieving his goals with humility and hard work, research and experimentation.
Umberto Caretta has a mission and a vision: that a creation, whatever form it takes, should improve the lives of as many people as possible.
Caretta firmly believes that this poetic and political, rebellious and benevolent, pragmatic and subversive duty must be shared by everyone.
A true visionary, he places this art of innovation at the service of democratic design and ecology, action-oriented and respectful of human and natural heritage, whether it's a tablet stand or the Principessa stool made from thermoformed HIMACS sheets.
Umberto Caretta's constant experimentation with the possibilities offered by materials such as steel, aluminum, wood, or polyamide, and his radical reinterpretation of the form and structure of furniture, have placed him at the forefront of contemporary design.
Inventor, creative, designer, artistic director, Umberto Caretta is certainly all of these, but above all, he is an honest man, a direct descendant of Renaissance artists.
I currently live and work between Milan and Lecce, both considered "my" cities, as a man and as a professional.
